Flashback: Palm m100

The Palm m100 was one of my first handheld devices. I got it from eBay and it looked like that:

Later, I got an additional green shell. That was really fancy 😄

The software and hardware specs are not very impressive:

  • Palm OS 3.5.1
  • 160 x 160 pixel monochrome display
  • 16 MHz Motorola Dragonball CPU
  • 2 MB RAM
  • Infrared
  • RS232
  • 2 AAA batteries
  • Dock

Connection to a PC was made by serial (RS232) connection using a dock or a connector. I don't remember which software I used to sync anything...

The software was quite responsive, quite when you look at the specs. But to be honest, it didn't have much to do - no colors, just some kinds of grey, and only 4 apps to use (calendar, contacts, tasks, and hand writing).

Hand writing was very bad. But the other apps were quite usable...
